Well, this was awkward.
She hadn't been super excited about being partnered with Katsu in the first place after the fight the two of them had a few days ago, and her opinion of this didn't really change once she heard that the body announcement and she saw the older boy was rolling around in a wheelchair. She couldn't help but remember the mean things she had said.
She had regretted them immediately, of course, even more so when he had told her he was dying. She had been too mad to really think about what he was saying but it certainly looked like the hacker had been telling the truth, as if things weren’t bad enough for the young girl she had now apparently bullied a dying man. Tomoe you’re so smooth this chapter, for real.
What do you say in this situation? Wringing her hands in order to have something to do when it was just the two of them there, the vet busied herself with looking at anything that wasn’t Katsu at the moment, tugging on loose strands of white hair as the three people who occupied the freezer were deathly silent.
I mean this was excusable for one of them because he was actually dead. For Tomoe’s part, she just didn’t know what to say anymore. It was hard to not be friends with someone you had been best friends with since you were kids.
