[googlefont="VT323"] Computers are magnificent tools for the realization of our dreams, but no machine can replace the human spark of spirit, compassion, love, and understanding. Katsu and Tomoe had spent the day that the whole new floor opened exploring around the new floor. There were so many cool things, and honestly Katsu probably was the happiest he had been since they were trapped in this factory. He was smiling and laughing and the two had a wonderful day. And so Katsu had asked her to come by the pool the next day so they could hang out. It could be like a date, except Katsu didn't say that, he just said they should hang out. Though, the two of them alone in a pool, it sure seemed like a date even if Katsu tried to convince himself that it wasn't anything like that just because he thought it would make Tomoe uncomfortable, given he had confessed his feelings for her and then said they couldn't be friends again. He'd made up with her while investigating, but he was still regretting it all, despite the fact he told himself he would do it all over again if it would keep her safe. He was being selfish right now, because he really just needed someone, and he'd always leaned on her before.
And so Katsu made his way to the pool, and upon reaching the pool area he realized just how hard swimming would be for him. He could probably float, but actually swimming would be a bit difficult. He could probably do a little bit of moving around as his limbs weren't completely useless yet, though they wouldn't be able to do very much. At least he could breathe just fine. Well, he would at least give it a try. He changed into a pair of swimming trunks with a bit of difficulty, still getting used to this weaker body. Finding some pool supplies, Katsu ended up finding some floaties to help him not drown when he got into the water and then he started to wait by the edge of the pool humming a tune while he waited for Tomoe.

Well, maybe things weren't all bad.
Some people may be confused about what these two idiots are doing. After all the deaths, after all the betrayal they had seen from one child murdering another, after living in fear knowing there was bracelet of literal poison forced upon them, two people had made plans to hang out at a pool. A brief little break from the life of being terrorized by stupidface robot bears and honestly it was a break that Tomoe would be the first to say the two of them really needed. It hadn't been a great run for the two friends since they had been locked in here. Worse for the kids who had their lives cut short, she wasn't going to deny that but you know what she means.
Katsu and Tomoe had been the best of friends for years. He had been someone who she had spent more time with that some members of her own blood related family and she had thought it would have been like that forever because why would it change? And then the bear's second motive had hit and he had...well, let's call it what it was, he had broken up with her, told her that they couldn't be friends anymore and it had been...rough.
It really hurt, being alone. Bad memories, you know? But now they had made up, even the closest of friends can fight and when Karsu had asked her to go swimming it had taken her all of two seconds to say yes. She could hardly sleep that night and she practically sprinted to the pool the next day when she woke up not murdered and was only slightly disappointed she wasn't there first.
Some people might have taken a moment to look at Katsu's condition and feel awkward, because it was obvious the guy seemed to be in rough shape. Tomoe on the other hand simply plopped herself down on the edge next to him and scooted as close as she could, invading his personal space unabashedly.
"Aww Ka-chan, you weren't supposed to get here first, no fair." The white haired vet sucked on the inside of her cheek thoughtfully as she lamented this cruel act of fate, making her arrive second and without really thinking about it her eyes had wandered down to the items had collected and the first thing she could think of to say was
"Nice floaties."
Smooth as ice.

[googlefont="VT323"] Computers are magnificent tools for the realization of our dreams, but no machine can replace the human spark of spirit, compassion, love, and understanding. Katsu didn't even know when Tomoe had scooted up to him until he felt her pretty much right next to him. He blushed furiously, his face almost looking like a pink rose. He smiled and turned towards her, taking in every little bit of her face, never wanting to see her frown. Her smile causing his heart to beat faster to the point he could even hear it thumping at his chest, though he knew no one's heart could beat fast enough that someone outside of his body could hear unless they were pressed up against his chest. Even the nice floaties comment didn't change his happy smile, though it had reminded him of his own stupidity.
He looked down at his legs and wiggled his toes a bit before and nodded, though his smile refused to waver despite the grim prospects of his body failing. At least he had his meds back and he wouldn't get worse… probably. Regardless, Tomoe gave him hope. Tomoe was the light of his life, and she was here. She was alive. He could feel her near him. He placed a hand on one of her hands, feeling the realness of this situation.
"I was too excited. I couldn't sleep." He looked back up at her with a larger smile than before. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you about…" He gestured towards his legs that were having most of the effect happen on. His arms were still a bit strong at least. He could type, he could do whatever with his arms, though they weren't as strong as they once were. "And about saying what I did before. I know I already apologized, but I am sorry. I… I didn't lie when I said I loved you, though."
