fear is not an option luck is not a factor,
Expendables. Those who still hadn't woken up by the time their hosts had presented themselves. It showed Ryuu that they were lazy… or they were weak-willed. In both instances, such a trait would earn them a spot in the 'expendables' category. This meant he didn't care what happened to them. They weren't people he would worry about except for using them as tools. His core of non-expendables needed to be balanced, of course, but there were some things that were unforgivably expendable. Weak-willed meant, however, they had more use than cannon fodder, as he could easily manipulate them into doing things he needed to be done despite the risk, that he would rather not a non-expendable do, as he would rather not his non-expendables die. It happened once or twice, that he misjudged a person, or a non-expendable became expendable, and they ended up dying, but his record was somewhat shiny in this regard.
However, even though two bears that were obviously a reference to a popular video game series, Ryuu saw this happening as very interesting and something he could use to his advantage. After all, what better way to test someone's resolve than in something completely and totally unexpected? While they had yet to hear what was going on here, or why they were here in the first place, Ryuu was a bit of a suspicious guy, but in the current situation that made sense. He assumed they were kidnapped by these bears. And of course, since he was included within this group, it meant someone had a beef against the military, and most likely wanted to kill him. After all, they already threatened to kill the still sleeping fellow teenagers by throwing them out of the window.
"Why are we here?" Ryuu finally spoke up. It seemed the most strategic move to make. After all, he couldn't let anyone here think he was weak willed or willing to let another take control. While he planned on being less subtle as a leader, and allow a figure head to take place, as they would probably establish a hierarchy based on who was the most liked and the smartest (if it was just the latter, he would definitely be the leader, but he knew he wasn't very well liked, and honestly he didn't care, he did his job and that was what mattered). However, he wanted to make sure that he didn't just stay in the background. If someone wanted advice, he wanted the ability to use them, and therefore he needed to seem like he was looking out for them and asking the right questions. He needed to seem like he cared about everyone while not getting upset if anyone ended up dying. He'd seen death, he chose who died before as well. He'd though he had become immune to death.
After all, he sent his own family to death before.
hope is not a strategy

MEI MEIYO -KENJUTSU MASTER- On instinct, Mei's right arm traveled down to grip the hilt of her wakizashi blade as the two things appeared. Black and white, one had a green eye and one had red. Mei had never seen anything like the creatures before in her life. Someone spoke up, a bespectacled man with brown hair and a suit. He was sort of like those people Mei would see on the street as she walked to the store to pick up more fish and rice for the month. However, those visits to the store contained almost zero interaction as Mei knew exactly where to go and what to get. She would barely say a word to the cashier and they would often comment on her swords. She would reply 'They're for practice.' and end the conversation there.
This was no visit to the store, however, and Mei wasn't comfortable in this situation at all. She glanced around at the people around her, three were still laying on the ground and if not for the light rise and fall of their chests (one didn't even have a shirt on), Mei might've easily mistaken them as dead. The rest of the people seemed divided into two categories, social and anti-social. Mei fit into the anti-social group despite knowing it or not and as she looked around at those people, she noticed that quite a few fit in to that category. Maybe she would have to... No, she didn't want to finish that thought.
Then there was the more social group of people which buzzed around firing off questions and vocalizing their thoughts. Mei wished she could be more like those people, but her anxiety made it nigh on impossible and coupled with her lack of knowledge on the outside world, it seemed impossible. She didn't really mind it, though, as she'd gotten used to the silence of solitude. Perhaps if someone approached her here, she would be willing to give making conversation another try. But God help the person she talked to. They better have a dictionary on hand (or in their head) or Mei would get completely lost.
The black-haired swords master scanned each person quickly. There was a black haired boy in a red jacket, a blonde girl who went around touching people with some... some thing that made no sense to Mei. It looked like a bunny, but it clearly wasn't real. There was a red-haired man who was visibly upset, and a brown haired girl in a white and blue school uniform who struck Mei as average for some odd reason. A white haired guy in a red cloak who just stood in place and a... girl? She was wearing a strange thing over her face so it was hard to tell. Then there was that green-haired girl who had been the most talkative so far. She had asked if they were students... Mei remembered looking that word up before. It meant a person going to school. So did that mean these were all of her classmates? No, of course not! They were all different ages and the one thing she knew about school was that you were forced in a room with people your age. There was a silver-haired girl who seemed almost unfazed by the whole ordeal and a brown-haired guy who stood with his arms crossed. There was a white haired girl who had tested the door, but when it didn't open, calmly stated so. And of course there was the suited man who had spoken earlier.
Mei wasn't one for making first impressions. That could come later, she supposed, when she got to know people a little better. Standing before her now were those creatures. The black and white ones. They had different statures and their strangely shaped eye's colors were different, but other than that, they looked identical. They had asked for questions, so Mei felt she had no choice to oblige, "What are you?"

[googlefont="VT323"] Computers are magnificent tools for the realization of our dreams, but no machine can replace the human spark of spirit, compassion, love, and understanding. Katsu smiled seeing the white-haired girl boop the sleeping people on the nose with her stuffed rabbit. Honestly, how could anyone not like her? Now he wished he had stayed asleep a little bit longer so he could get booped on the nose as well.
Of course, there were a lot of curious people around him, though since Katsu didn't get out very often, pretty much everyone looked different to him. Any of these people could have the look of a gummy stealer, and he was determined to find out who it was. The person with the mask, who was probably a girl from the way she spoke, could easily hide them behind her mask, but Katsu doubted that she did. She woke up after him, after all. That meant the stealer had to be one of the two others who had woken up before he did.
Katsu eyed Mei and Ryuu suspiciously. However, then the teddy bears appeared and Katsu just sort of stared at them. Red. Green. Those colors were familiar. Like he had seen them before… Gummies. Gummies were red and green. Red were his favorite gummies, they tasted the best. That meant that the bears stole his gummies. He crossed his arms and glared at the bear, wondering if there was a nearby computer he could hack and have some gummies delivered to him. If they just asked, he wouldn't have minded. He really just cared that they were stolen and not even asked for before they were taken.
Katsu wondered how the bears worked, and he figured there was some sort of computer inside of them. That would be really cool to try to hack. He could only imagine the kind of firewalls such animatronics had, especially if they turned out to be AIs. He would enjoy the challenge. Katsu even ended up licking his lips while he stared at the bears, just waiting for the chance to lunge at one of them and hack it. Perhaps she would hug the bears. And when she did they would be distracted and he'd have his chance to try to take over the bears. Plus, then they wouldn't beat around the bush and they'd give them information about what happened and why they were here. Maybe he could even control them to just let them all out.
Maybe they had wings and they could fly them down to safety. That would make getting out of here a lot easier than anything else. Otherwise they'd have to walk down all those stairs unless there was a nice elevator. Even then it would take time and the elevator could break down or something.
"Why would you throw them off?" Katsu finally spoke up looking towards those who were still sleeping, "Why not just wake them up?" He found this very curious but he doubted another would ask this question. Most people didn't ask questions like that. He didn't care, he felt like it was important and therefore he ended up asking it. It wasn't often that Katsu spoke on his own volition. Well except when he was around those he considered friends.
Katsu found himself edging closer and closer to the white-haired girl, almost in a defensive sort of position, though one could assume it was so he had a better ease at knowing when to jump if she ever ended up hugging the bears and providing the distraction he needed. Either that, or he felt an attractive force towards her that no one would understand except for him. Although, even he didn't understand, though he wished to learn more by sticking around the white-haired girl more often so he could study this odd feeling he felt when he looked at her.
Katsu could tell that several people were not happy and suspicious of the bear. And he couldn't blame them. It was like watching Spongebob and seeing 'Patrick' in the game of hide and go seek, but he knew, he knew it wasn't Patrick. It was Patrick Notstar. And he knew it. Just like how he had a bad feeling about these bears. Katsu wasn't one for words, he wasn't one to give words of encouragement, and honestly, he could feel that others would step up and give some big speech about hope and not giving into the bears. He couldn't word it any better than anyone else, so why give it a shot? He'd just be ignored and others would outshine him. It wasn't worth the effort.
Seeing a black haired girl touch one of her blades, Katsu eyed her for a moment, then leaving his spot to stand next to her. "Don't hurt them. Who knows what they'll do? And we need them to tell us how to get out anyways," Katsu said with an urgent whisper, hoping that only Mei would hear him, "I wouldn't want them to throw you out of a window." Which was true. Katsu rather not anyone get thrown out a window. It would be sad, and it would make her sad too he was sure. "Let's hear them out first, okay?" Katsu didn't touch her, but he made sure he was standing somewhat close by, not close enough to feel like he would startle her, though she still might be. He didn't know who this was, but fright made people do things they didn't want to and act without thinking. And thinking was important.

Izuku kept his wits about him regardless of where he was at. He knew there were three people who were still sleeping and to his eyes, they were too busy being lazy. But then again, they had the talent apparently. Besides, who has he to dihed People spoke as soon as they woke up...and he eyed a particular person who said that he was willing to cook for them. Well, Izuku would help out later. In fact, after everything is said and done, he'll go and help that guy. 'Sides, he felt the need to help despite his ticked off expression. He looked at the three sleeping bodies and unafraid to state his opinion he spoke up. "Apparently their talent is Super High School Level 'Lazybones,"' Izuku said. He started to rub his chin as he looked at the bears. "Also, how interesting. A bear who's anorexic, likely he threw up right into that poison river over there," Izuku gestured over to the river, "And a bear who can't help himself but eat... Hey, Winnie-the-Pooh called, he wants his 'hunny' back fatso," Izuku shook his head, " Anyways, fact remains, I don't want to be here anymore. Infact, everyone and everything here is an eyesore." He crossed his arms and kept an annoyed expression on his face. "I don't mind working naturally, but I'd rather not be surrounded by-" he eyed the people he saw... Confused people mostly, but that didn't mean he had to like these people. "Idiots. And bears. In fact idiots and bears with eating disorders."

Ah, there were a few questions already. The typical questions, like 'What the hell are you?' and 'Why are we here?'. Master Monokuma had to deal with the same questions when he was still around. Nevertheless, the Bros. began to answer the questions.
They pointed towards the fellow with the suit and glasses. "You are here to play a game, a very fun one!"
"Yeah! What my bro said. This game is one... to die for."
They then pointed towards the clueless girl in black.
"Paying attention isn't your forte, eh? We had a musical number planned out for that and you dozed off. Did you never see bears before? We're bears! We are the Monokuma brothers! You know, 'Mono', for monochrome and 'Kuma' being the Japanese word for bear!" The robotic siblings sighed. They felt for the educational system...
Afterwards they pointed to the guy clad in red.
"If we just woke them up, that'd be no fun! After all, each game needs to have rules, and breaking these rules will be punished!"
Finally, they pointed to the other guy clad in red with white hair who looked like he was in a state of permanent constipation.
"You want to get out of here? We can arrange that. There is just one thing we need you to do:"
The brothers turned up the volume again so everyone could hear them.
"KILL ANOTHER PARTICIPANT!"
Without a word, or even any visible actions, the volume was reduced again.
"You heard right. Kill one of the other people in here, and get away with it. If you succeed, you get out, and if you fail, you'll be punished."
The bears then showed a small rectangular object on the monitor, a black card-like object that could easily double as a phone of sorts.
"Look at this nifty little thing. This is called a electroID, and everyone gets one. Don't try destroying it, that won't work. We learned from Master Monokuma's mistakes as well. If you lose it, you'll get punished. Just keep an eye out for the regulations of the Factory Chiefs. You know, us."
This was bound to be fun for everyone involved! The brothers were getting giddy with excitement. They just need to think up a motive first. That should be easy enough, people would kill for any reason.

"Beario and Bearigi!?" Yoko exclaimed as the two bears that were obviously violating some kind of copyright/parody clause showed up on a screen that appeared. "Well their no Captain Lou Albano and Danny Wells..." Some of the others around her started to ask questions when prompted, most of them asking rather pointless questions but ones that would be answered none the less. It moved the event along fine, even though there were a few students that hadn't woken up yet. Perhaps the Flag was set to trigger after an amount of time and not just upon everyone's consciousness?
Then the bears revealed what it was all of them were there to do. For some reason, she felt a bit more composed today than normal so she took what was happening in stride. "Oh, just kill someone else? For a moment I thought it would be more outlandish like being forced to compete in some sort of underground masked wrestling ring." Not that she had any experience with something like that... Yoko looked around the room. "Hmmm... I'd introduce myself but there are still some people that are asleep... I'd have to reintroduce myself to them later... Well whatever. Hi, I'm Yoko Kamiya, the Super High School Level Jack of All Trades. I'm probably better than you guys at most things that aren't your talent."

"Pardon the intrusion, but I have yet to ask if anyone has any sort of allergen or dietary restrictions."
Oppenheimer slowly moved into the room where most of the fainted students, save three, awoken from their slumbers. Sixteen men and women have awoken in a mysterious place with no convincing explanation on how the body of teenagers can possibly get in such a position.
"I see that others have woken up as well. Forgive me for repeating my introduction for those that were already awake."
Oppenheimer went into a bow as far as he can to signify the utmost respect for those who were born on Japanese soil.
"My name is Oppenheimer. I came here for being the Ultimate Instrumental Artist, though I am nothing compared to you here who worked hard for your talents. I pray to Allah that we will get along splendidly together."
He turned his attention to the sleeping students on the floor. With a quizzical look, he took off his button-up shirt to reveal his gray undershirt. He flipped over one of the students and prompted their resting head against the balled-up shirt, making for an impromptu pillow.
"If I might bother anyone else for any soft articles of clothing to keep these heads from resting against the rather uncomfortable floor will be most appreciative. Perhaps you?"
He turned his attention to the lady who seemed to be bopping people on the nose.
"I am hopefully correct to assume that you care for these people like you would a newborn puppy. It's probably the maternal instincts in you. Can I ask you to help me make sure these heads are properly rested against a soft surface. Although, you are under no obligation to do so. None of you are. But I hope Allah's influence can make you help another of your kind to help."
He stood up with his hands grasped around his back. He looked back from student to student until something dawned on him.
"I'm dreadfully sorry, but it seems that I have interrupted something whilst I was out making sandwiches. Dreadfully sorry. Please, I beg for you forgiveness for my lack of consideration on my part. It will not happen again."
Panicked. He got down on one knee and clasped his hands.
"Please, I am willing to do anything to make my errs right."
Oppenheimer has still yet to discover the Monokumas...

Jeez, some of these people were just determined to be lazybones apparently. Normally she might have just shrugged her shoulders and move on content to let them sleep, but these were people she was meeting for the first time and it was kind of rude to sleep through introductions you know. Pouting in slight annoyance that people were still sleeping, Tomoe busied herself with something soft for these three to rest their heads on as Oppe..Oppa...that guy who had just spoken to her had said to, finding only really bits of bread. It'd have to do and with a shrug and after sliding it under their heads the silver haired vet began to boop each of the three remaining sleepies on the nose with Ishi-Hare-u, bouncing from one to the next like a puppy on cocaine until finally, kneeling over a brunette girl with her rabbit inches from the girl's nose, she notices for the very first time that there was a screen here now. A screen turned on. And on that screen that had just been turned on? Bears. BEARS.She wanted to hug them so bad. She's never hugged a bear before, she bet their fur was so fluffy and cute. It was a shame they were on tv and not here in person. Pouting slightly, Tomoe not having heard a single word what the bears or any of her new friends had been saying since she noticed there were bears here got up and started to move as slyly as she could towards the monitor until she was right beside it and then slowly rose the stuffed rabbit up until it was nose to nose with one of the bears on the screen. "Boop."A moments pause to let it sink in what exactly just happened and Tomoe then slides the bunny's nose over to the other bear on the screen and again positions it to the point that they were nose to nose, animal to animal. Just like how they act in the wild, she assumes. "Boop boop."This was a good day so far. And Tomoe continued to boop the noses of the bears until somebody told her otherwise, because why on earth would she stop? Tagged: Taro Arakawa

Everyone wants a magical solution for their problem, yet everyone refuses to believe in magic. For fuck's sake, what even this place is. There was other people, too. That was a sight Taro wouldn't want to see, he hates people. Everybody started waking up one by one, and introducing themselves. For fuck's sake again this isn't a matchmaking show and Taro doesn't want to know anybody's name unless it's for his own benefit. Taro looked around and saw 3 people still sleeping on the floor. Weakpukefucks. That's what they were and Taro hoped they would never wake up, they were better off dead anyways. However, something happened that Taro couldn't ever imagine. Two fucking talking bears based off some famous video game popped up. Un fucking believable. One was a McFatfuck and other was a Fucracker. As they told that they will make them work here Taro was just completely done with this nosense clusterfuck.
Taro looked around. As he coded, there was a OrdinaryBoyWithGlasses™, some edgy chick with a fetish for hilts, a guy who looked like his diet consists of mountain dew and doritos, also never saw the face of sunlight, a semenhaired tan corpseman, a tryhard school girl, a weird shota tits mcgee who has a bunny, another semenhair who looks like a ''Shit, I am smart, fuck you all.'' type, a seaweed haired scarfgirl, some weirdo who has masks and shit, creepy looking girl who looks scary enough to kill someone in one look and a chinese fucktard who looks like a loser.
After listening the bears who identified themselves as Bonerkuma Hoes, Taro was in shock. What? He said to himself with a low voice. ''WHAT THE FUCK? Is this a bad written joke, I mean, yeah I joke about killing people but what the shitframe!? Hell no I'm killing someone!'' Taro started to yell. He was obviously angry. After his screaming, another person came from the kitchen. Yay, more dumbbullcocks. Taro was in denial of the situation he was. There was no way that these people will kill him, and he will kill those people. Though that's what he believed.
As Tits Mcgee started making her plush touch to the noses of the Bonerkumas, Taro got really angry as he started to get what kind of people he was stuck with what kind of people. ''Why the fuck everyone is acting so calm, dang it?! What the fuck Tits Mcgee, those murderbears are trying to make us kill each other, how are you acting so calm like that? Seriously, I just can't even- Ugh. Why am I even trying.'' Taro sat down to ground, as he started to rub his head, trying to make the heavy headache made by the thinking situation caused. Taro wasn't used to use his brain this much. He would just use a magic trick to avoid everything. But this, this was something he couldn't avoid. He was kidnapped in a dogshit smelling like place with these weird people, and only way out was killing each other. It seemed like a dream at first, and it even seems like a dream right now. However Taro was knowing that it wasn't after he pinched himself hard. He wanted to ask a question too. He got up again and said, ''Why are you guys doing these stupidshitass things?''

Joo-Eun Cruz - SHSL Poet
"Fiction is the truth inside the lie." - Stephen King
|
It was only shortly after Joo-Eun had finished inspecting all the windows and learning that there really was no means of escape through them that the black and white bears have arrived. There were two of them, one short and stout, and the other tall and lanky. They were also wearing two iconic hats that didn’t really fit them, the Poet had thought.
Of course she had thought of it as a joke, perhaps a silly prank played on the new students of HPA. So she decided to wait it out, to let the other people in the room ask them questions first, it was a good time as any for her to observe the strangers around her anyway.
She had counted the number of people around her. Sixteen in total counting herself, the friendly guy who came from the kitchen, and the three passed out people. Joo-Eun had noted to check their pulses later. The Poet scanned over the people, trying to make herself as hidden as possible, and only a few had taken her interest.
There was a girl with red eyes and a sword, who was dressed all in black, Joo-Eun scrunched her nose, she never liked that color and not because of the race. There was a weird person wearing a mask, judging by the body structure, that person is a girl, though she could be wrong. Joo-Eun had encountered her fair share of traps in her short time in Japan. There was the boy nearest to her, a redhead with an eyepatch that she felt was a ticking time bomb, an unstable person one push away from insanity. He was screaming profanities at the bears. There was also a cute white haired girl carrying some plushies at the front who was playing with the monitors.
She had heard the bears announce something about people killing each other, something about them having to kill each other. Joo-Eun found the idea to be absurd, granted that they are in a dangerous place and that the two bears radiate a dangerous aura, but the thought of having to be forced to kill each other was too eloquent and incongruous to happen outside of books.
However, if it was real, the Poet had made a mental note to herself to treat the others around her with respect and to avoid drawing attention to her to stay farther away from death’s grip.
Joo-Eun thought that the lives of both the white haired loli girl and the redhead cyclops were in danger, if what the bears were saying are true. She was closer to the readhead and could not afford someone dying right next to her, who knows if the bears’ aim was perfect, what if they shot her instead? And so she grabbed his arm and asked him to calm himself, “If you want to continue living I suggest you stop acting idiotically and start thinking more about your actions.”
The Poet did not wait for a reply as she calmly walked towards the monitor, playing with her feather necklace, she tried not to seem as nervous as she felt. As of now, she had more questions than answers and she never liked being left in the dark. Joo-Eun Cruz is a very curious person, after all.
She had pushed the white haired loli out of the way, she didn’t want someone dying near her and right now she was in front of the monitor with the loli. Joo-Eun looked up at the bears, “So I get it, we are forced to commit the perfect murder, and I’m assuming it is the only way out of this place seeing as all the doors are locked and jumping out of the windows is a lost cause.” She started, biting her thumb while talking.
“The only thing I’m going to ask about is the origin of you both, you two are stuffed bears in a monitor. Surely you both wouldn’t have a mind of your own, you must have someone to control you. And seeing as whoever kidnapped us took a lot of elaborate steps to get us here, then it is safe to assume that this person could not afford having their plans foiled and so they would have to keep an eye on us at all times. So my only question is, is the person controlling you in this building as well? In this room with us? And what happens if we find them out?” She confidently finished.
And then, she looked around and realized that she had said all of this out loud in front of the people.
Ah crap, so much for not drawing attention.

Ahh, the two brothers bearly (Yes, that pun was intended.) had to lift a paw and there's already trouble afoot! How delightful! This makes it very easy for them to bring then closer to their goal. They'll explain their goal in a second anyway.
"Okay, boys and girls, time to answer a few more questions!"
First, they pointed at the generic schoolgirl. "You're boring! We're skipping you." Even her (lack of) talent was boring as well. What was Hope's Peak thinking when they invited her? The headmaster must have been drunk, there's no other explanation.
Then suddenly the white-haired girl with the stuffed bunny who already walked around and bopped everyone on the nose decided to bop the brothers on the nose as well. They figured she wasn't the sharpest knife in the kitchen drawer, but they decided to play along.
"Oh... Oh yes..." The brothers said. To mess with her even further, they began plushing and moving up and down in fake joy. "Please don't stop..." They now began to breathe heavily, like stereotypical perverts do, before they stopped on a dime.
"So, you have no questions, then? Then we'll move on.", they said after the other white-haired girl knocked the first one out of the way.
Upon the red-haired guy's angry tirade, they both laughed at the sheer hilarity of his insults. They just couldn't take him seriously anymore after that. What was he? The SHSL Donald Duck Impersonator? It seemed fitting for him. Nevertheless, he had a question, and so they answered.
"Why we're doing this? There's a small, single, solitary reason for that."
"DESPAIR."
"That's right. Despair, dear kiddies. The ultimate magnificent force no one can resist? Exactly that. All of you are already pretty despairful at the moment. So it won't be long until one of you snaps and just offs one of you!"
Then the glasses-wearing tackler approached the screen with the brothers.
"Oh ho ho, someone's trying to be super smart here, eh? Well you got the part with the perfect murder right."
"On your other question: We won't tell you. Maybe someone is controlling us, maybe there isn't. A.I's sufficiently advanced enough, you know? Even if someone does kill the supposed 'Mastermind' behind this game, that doesn't have to mean that the game ends. Heck, maybe killing them off prolongs the game, causing more people to die. Who knows? Upupupu! Puhuhuhu!"
With that, the bears fell silent again. Although they did take notice of a tan dude with longish hair, they didn't want to call his attention to them. Maybe they could screw with him if he doesn't even know the rules of the game yet? And he will die with a despairing look on his eyes as his life gradually fades away after someone killed him or if he broke a rule.

Da Ji was still unsure to how feel about what is starting here, first she was entering Hope's peak to pursue her dream and then live a normal life then she ended up on this place with people she never talked, saw or met and now these two bears appear out of nowhere saying they all are on a killing game? Too much information at the same time "Ugh... this can't be happening for real... something was telling me to not go to Hope's Peak and now i know what it is..." She began remembering what she felt before taking the Airplane to Japan she should had followed her intuition "Or this could be just a prank from Hope's Peak! Yeah that must be it after all there are cameras everywhere! " She smiled.
After a while she noticed the Plushie Girl booping the monitors and the bears doing some strange things... "Ehhhhh... i think you should stop doing this... " She said while looking at the Girl, normally she would try to stop she but at the moment she was curious about some things "I have a question, why do you think we will kill someone out of nowhere? We could just stay here until rescue come or somehow manage to escape with everyone alive, i think just telling us "Kill each other" is really how could i say... strange " After saying that she waited their response smiling and looking at everyone faces trying to memorize them, then she noticed a little girl on the ground still sleeping
"Last question why is she still sleeping? " She points the girl on the ground "She is the last one still sleeping, shouldn't you two do something about this? " She say with a shy smile and trying to believe this is all a prank but something is still telling she...
"This is not a prank... "

TAG | None WORDS | 497 NOTES |
Take deep breaths Sybil. Nothing bad is going to happen. This is mysterious, but surely there is some good explanation for their current situation. Something rational, something tangible. It was going to be fine. These thoughts ran through her head as she stepped back from the crowd. Would you figure that waking up in a mysterious place around mysterious people is a bit nerve wracking? Not to mention, she was getting quite a few stares... Still. Sybil tried to shut it out, and calm down. Some explanation will come forward. Folding her arms together, she looked towards the ground, her gloved finger tapping against her arm. Calm. Just stay--
The appearance of a couple odd looking bears, the Monokuma Brothers, they called themselves, broke any illusion that this situation was normal. Okay, maybe they looked a bit funny, not to mention so close to a well known mascot that a lawsuit may be around the corner. Considering the downright creepy circumstances of their being in the derlict-looking factory, though.. It'd be like if Winnie the Pooh had a deep, gravely voice that clashed with his personality and appearance. There was just something infinitely unnatural and unsettling about it. And of course.. when they started to explain this situation bit by bit, she started to escape.
They said they were doing this for despair, but that made no damn sense to the calligrapher. What the hell did that even mean? The idea of doing something for despair was entirely asinine. Is this what people were up to these days? She wouldn't know, but still, that's just plain weird... No, nothing about this could be normal in any world.
Despair... Such an ugly word, too. No one could make that one look pretty.
Her breathing started to grow heavy. Standing near the back of the crowd, she was about as far away from those bears as possible, and they still made her shake. In fact, this entire situation was enough to make her sick.
"L... L-Let us go.." It was all she could manage. A few muttered, nervous words that she doubted anyone even heard, considering they were muffled by the mask. Of course, as Ultimates, these people were relatively calm and collected. She.. Damn it, Sybil was just some normal girl with pretty words. She couldn't handle this. At this rate, she could pass out. "You can't be serious about any of t-this.. It's insane. It makes.. no..." No sense at all. She trailed off though. The feeling of eyes on her wasn't nice. No, it was terrible when all she worried about was people silently judging her. Now... she wondered if anyone had murder intent.
There was no way! They wouldn't start considering killing people so easily. That's not how healthy human beings think at all! Still, her eyes darted between all of them. The girl with glasses, that guy with an eyepatch, the boy in a red jacket. Please tell her they were thinking the same. |

The today I chose is ordinary, and it's about to crumble. The bears showed up, two automatons that were the embodiment of everything wrong in the world. The kingpins of despair.
When she first saw the flatscreen, it appeared in her eyes not as the ordinary, commonplace item that it is, but a harbinger of worse things to come. How did she know of this? Call it instinct, call it precognition, but in such a sleazy, decrepit, downtrodden place, the air itself poisoned lungs. Poisoned brain. The walls have ears. The walls have mouths, mouths that whispered of calamitous prognostication.
And, if you listen closely to the air around them, you can hear the mournful, delirious messages sent back from their future selves. Because there can be no hope in Hell, no hope at all.
She didn't want to listen - didn't want to let the bears infect her mind, but what choice did she have? Resigning herself to the role she must play, the role of a participant among many others, she closed her eyes and unmuted her hearing aid.
And what perfect timing. She tuned in right in time for the bears' screech for murder - "KILL ANOTHER PARTICIPANT!" they yelled, causing the gray-haired girl to flinch.
Why did they have to be so loud.
After recovering from that, her violet eyes flickered to the people around her. The white-haired girl walked up to the screen, raising her stuffed bunny and pressing it against the screen. A redhead started screaming profanities, only to be pushed aside by that bespectacled girl from earlier.
'So is she going to take charge?' Akimi wondered, watching as she confronted the two bears.
Her thoughts drifted back to the minutes during the bears' first appearance, a small slice of time that was now lost to her forever. She chose not to listen to them prior to their kill command, a costly decision that had the potential to be her ruin.
But she felt it was a safe enough bet. To give herself some solace, some grace from the bears' antics. Because there was surely more to come.
The masked girl started to panic. Akimi watched, solemn. A heavy sigh in her heart.
She walked forward, slipping her leather-bound notebook and fountain pen out of her pocket. She wrote as she walked, the nib of her pen dancing across lined paper like a ballerina on ice - graceful and silent.
Stopping a few steps away from the flatscreen, she held out her notebook in front. On it was written a message, a question for the bears.
In neat, purple ink: "Why would we kill?"

of course, this was going to happen. why else would 16 random strangers be put into a godforsaken place like this smelly old factory? certainly not to throw a massive tea party, that was for certain.
shirong felt that the appearance of the 2 bear-looking... things... was going to spell out trouble for all of them, especially once they screamed that they had to murder one another. and that 'we want despair' reason was pretty lackluster, too. why would people want despair, what was the purpose?
the guardian glanced over everyone who was stuck in there with him. although the bears haven't said any reason yet as to why they should kill one another, he didn't doubt that someone would snap sooner or later. the guy with the red hair seemed plenty unstable enough.
then he saw what the white haired girls did, at least the one with the long hair and the bunny doll, before the one with glasses pushed her out of the way and asked her questions. shirong knew that the one with glasses didn't need his protection. in fact, they all seemed pretty capable of defending themselves in one way or another.
shirong was glad, it made his job that much easier, not worrying about someone else's life. he also didn't think it was necessary to ask the bears a question. he figured everyone else did a better job than he himself could. he also thought it was a good idea that he'd spend some time as far away from all of these people as he possibly could.
maybe someone does turn out to need shirong's protection after all? he was invited for being the shsl guardian, and that included guarding people as well. well, if they want anything from him, they know where he is, but they shouldn't expect an answer from him.
